The concert will feature amazing performances by Northern’s band, choir, and orchestra students. Tickets are $3 at the door; donations will be accepted. The entire community is invited to support this important, worthwhile cause and experience the delightful musical talents of Northern’s high school students. Concessions will be available for purchase during an afterglow event in the Commons Area. For more information contact Rosemarie Locricchio, counselor, Walled Lake Northern High School, at (248) 956-5345 or rosemarielocricchio@wlcsd.org. The INTERACT Club is the high school arm of Rotary International, which is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. Polio (poliomyelitis) is a fatal infectious disease that strikes children mainly under the age of five in countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It continues to threaten children all over the world with more than 10 million children who will be paralyzed in the next 40 years if the world fails to eradicate Polio. Because there is no cure for polio, the best protection is prevention. For as little as $0.60 worth of vaccine, a child can be protected against this crippling disease for life.
