| The Walled Lake Outdoor Education Center is owned and operated by the Walled Lake Consolidated School District. The main function of the facility is to provide outdoor/environmental learning opportunities for Walled Lake students. The center may also be rented by other school districts and recognized groups when not in use by the WLCSD.
The WLOEC is situated on 11 acres of school property which lies adjacent to the 3,500 acres of the Proud Lake Recreation Area. Hiking trails, fishing, canoeing and cross country ski trails are all easily accessed from the center. In the fall of 2006, the Walled Lake Outdoor Education Center completed over 2.5 million dollars worth of renovations and additions to its facility! New classroom space, a full renovation of existing space and air conditioning make this the perfect place for school camps, religious organizations’ retreats, or a conference retreat center for corporate groups.
