Superintendent Dr. Michael Lonze
Dr. Michael Lonze was appointed Walled Lake Consolidated School's Superintendent of Schools by the Board of Education on June 6, 2024.
Dr. Lonze brings 27 years of administrative experience to the position. He previously served as Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources since arriving in Walled Lake Consolidated Schools in 2018. Prior to that, Dr. Lonze was principal at Fraser High School and Dean of Students at Birmingham Groves High School. Dr. Lonze began his career in education as a teacher.
As Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Lonze mentored and evaluated principals; developed professional development for F.A.P.E.S, counseling departments; supported special services and IB programs; and played a key role in the implementation of MTSS process. He also revised and implemented our safety and security policies, as well as implemented A.L.I.C.E. protocols CSTAG threat assessment across the district.
Dr. Lonze is focused on working with the Board of Education, our staff members, and the community to continue to foster a supportive environment for students and staff with our district's goals in mind. Together, he believes we can uphold the standards of excellence and continue to empower our students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
