After School Adventures

After School Adventure classes will only be offered at certain elementary schools each session. Classes begin immediately after school and end at 5:00 p.m.

  • Fall: Commerce, Dublin, Keith, Oakley Park
  • Winter: Hickory Woods, Meadowbrook, Walled Lake, Wixom
  • Spring: Glengary, Loon Lake, Mary Helen Guest, Pleasant Lake

Students may only attend After School Adventure classes at their school.

**Please note - Registration must be completed online or sent to Community Education, not to your child(ren)’s school.**

Crayola® Artblazers – Famous Creators

Let your child’s creativity shine in this exciting after-school program! Each week, kids explore the bold styles of legendary artists - from expressive self-portraits to vibrant street art, peaceful Picasso-inspired paintings, and playful collages - while using Crayola® supplies to bring their own ideas to life. Through hands-on projects in painting, collage, and mixed media, they’ll experiment with techniques that shaped the art world, build confidence, and develop a style all their own. It’s a fun and inspiring way to spark imagination, express ideas, and make new friends along the way!

Crayola® Artist's Passport: Globetrotters

Let your child experience the world through hands-on creativity! Each week opens the door to a new culture with a project full of color, stories, and imagination. One week they might sculpt sparkling Fabergé-style eggs, another they could design block-printed wallpaper, decorate vibrant model buses like the ones in Pakistan, or paint their own story with Aboriginal dot art. Each project gives kids a glimpse into world traditions while letting them explore their own creativity. Our instructors make class fun and welcoming. Perfect for ages 5–12, no experience needed, and all supplies are included.

Center Performace Arts and Learning: Bollywood

Learn the basics of Indian Dance and Music and culture, musicality and rhythm, while learning a fun routine. The class will begin with a warm up and end with fun cool down/stretch. Min 4/Max 6 Sessions: 12

Center Performace Arts and Learning: Violin for Beginners

The class will focus on teaching the basics of Violin discipline, bow technique, learning strings and learning how to play the Violin. The students will bring their own Violins. The study material will be provided by the instructor. This is a great way to build skills and learn an instruments. Min 4/Max 6 Sessions: 12

Intro to Coding and Animation

This one-hour weekly program immerses 3rd-5th graders in coding and animation using iCode’s cutting-edge curriculum. With a focus on problem-solving, students will strengthen their logical thinking, pattern recognition, and sequencing skills. Through intensive Scratch programming, they’ll create engaging animations and interactive projects, building a strong foundation in computational thinking and coding concepts. Chromebook available to borrow during class.

Musical Theatre Workshop Class

Through an abridged version of the script TBD students will discover the joys of acting, improv, voice, speech, theater, dance and more! The session will end with a culminating performance where parents, friends and family can come see the tools and skills the students learned with Sunset Theatre Company! Students will have a great time and leave with a brand new sense of self confidence and teamwork. Also great for fostering study habits. Excellent for both boys and girls.

*Please note - Pleasant Lake Elementary program is open to all.

TGA Premier Golf

TGA makes it convenient and fun for your child to learn to play golf right in the school gym! Our curriculums were specifically designed by industry leading golf professionals and education specialists. Students will experience a mix of golf instruction, rules and etiquette lessons, character development lessons, and physical activity as they advance through the five-level program. All equipment provided. First time students receive a hat and handbook. Class Location: Gym
