Two Walled Lake Northern runners earn all-state honors at the MHSAA Cross Country State Finals
Walled Lake Northern’s Ty Parker and Ava Kurczewski capped their high school cross country careers with all-state honors at Saturday’s MHSAA State Finals at Michigan International Speedway.
Parker finished 19th overall with a time of 15:32.6 in the boys’ 5,000 meter race. The Knights, as a team, placed 19th overall in the Division 1 State Finals. Nathan Bruss also etched his name in program history setting a new freshman school record with a time of 16:32.8.
Not only did Kurczewski earn all-state honors, but she also set a new all-time personal best on Saturday afternoon. Kurczewski ran the girls’ 5,000 meter race in 18:38.5. The Walled Lake Northern girls’ team finished 18th overall in Division 1.
