Walled Lake Northern softball three-peats as district champions

The Walled Lake Northern softball team locked up its third-straight MHSAA Division 1 district title on Saturday afternoon with a tournament sweep of Huron Valley Schools.

The Knights opened up the district tournament with a 17-0 victory over Milford in three innings. The ladies then doubled up Lakeland in the district finals, 6-3.

Walled Lake Northern returns to the diamond on Saturday, 12 p.m., against Seaholm in Highland for the MHSAA Division 1 regional semifinals. The winner of that game will then play the winner of Farmington and Southfield Arts and Technology in the regional finals at 2 p.m.
