Walled Lake Western claims first district championship since 2019

Walled Lake Western got the District Finals monkey off its back on Friday night with a dominating win over Auburn Hills Avondale, 50-22. It’s the program’s first district championship since 2019 after falling in the district finals three consecutive seasons.

The Warriors rushed for 379 yards thanks to a pair of big performances from their two-headed monster of Gavin Noonan and Donovan Triplett. Noonan led Western with 184 yards and three touchdowns. Triplett ran for another 136 yards and two scores of his own.

Walled Lake Western will look to avenge its only loss of the season when the Warriors host Mason (11-0) on Friday, 7 p.m., in the Regional Finals. The Bulldogs beat Western, 30-7, back on October 13.

All tickets to Friday night’s Regional Finals game must be purchased online at GoFan.
