Walled Lake Western earns back-to-back Lakes Valley Conference championships
Walled Lake Western entered this season with a target on its back, but that didn’t phase the Warriors as the reigning Lakes Valley Conference champions successfully defended their title.
Western locked up its second-straight LVC title on Friday night in its regular season finale on with a 63-25 win over rival Walled Lake Central.
The Warriors also took home their third-straight city championship with a season sweep over rivals Walled Lake Central and Walled Lake Northern. Western has now won 19-straight Lakes Valley Conference games dating back to October of 2021.
The Warriors open districts on Friday night, 7 p.m., against Redford Thurston (6-3). Western earned home field advantage through regionals based on playoff points with the most in Division 3. On the other side of the district bracket is Auburn Hills Avondale (8-1) and Holly (6-3).
